German Crossbow
German Crossbow from 1560. Used in war, but it was also used in hunting. The crossbow was the first
hand held weapon that could pierce through armor and it was cheaper than the long bow. So rulers would
want their armies to have the cheap weapon that could pierce through armor at long and medium ranges.
The cheaper, and easier weapon to learn how to use could be mass produced so that multiple soldiers in an
army could have it.
